VOLUNTEER
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Marine Stewards!

Volunteers are critical to the smooth running of our organisation and programmes behind-the-scenes, and the real driver of the success and impact of Marine Stewards. We welcome people of all skill sets, backgrounds, ages and nationalities, with a shared love for marine conservation, strong work ethics and a can-do attitude!
You will be given the opportunity to tap into your passions, channel your interests into tangible outcomes, along the way, you contribute to the cause, learn something new, and be part of our amazing team :)
Current available volunteer positions
Volunteers with the relevant skills are invited to apply for the following roles:

1. Funding Associate

Write grant proposals and sponsorship presentation decks

Proficient in English business writing, and comfortable working with Google docs, Canva slides
-
Duration: This is a per-project basis, each project takes one or two weeks to complete

2. SeafoodX Manager
-
Formulate sustainable fish farm visit programme
-
Manage logistics and groups for fish farm visits
-
Prepare for and attend talks or roadshows (ad-hoc basis)
-
Make presentation slides if needed
-
Duration: This is a 6 month to 1 year volunteer position, roughly it will take 2 hours a week

3. TrashX Programme Lead

Liaise with corporate and school groups to set up beach clean up sessions

Procure the necessary materials
-
Recruit and manage volunteers to run beach cleanup events

Write up the SOP for beach clean up
-
Duration: This is a 6 month to 1 year volunteer position, roughly it will take 2 hours a week
4. Beach Cleanup Volunteer
-
Be the facilitator of the beach clean up sessions, including collecting the tools needed, facilitating the group for the clean up, and returning the tools after use

This is a paid position - a stipend will be given
-
Duration: Each session is 2 hours long. Clean-ups are on an ad-hoc basis and we will check in with you on your availability
5. Students - Internships

We welcome students to do internships with us. Currently, internships are an unpaid position

Minimum 3 months duration for all internships ​

At the end of the internship, a certificate of participation as an intern will be awarded to you

6. ReefX Data Entry Team Volunteer
-
Monthly data folder, google sheet and upload guide PDF preparation
-
Effective communication with survey diver group via WhatsApp and following up with divers on data-upload status

Data cleansing upon all divers' data-upload completion
-
Candidates with required skills in data management or technology background will be strongly preferred. Big plus for candidates who dealt with large amount data management and cleansing in the past.

Hands on experience with google drive, google sheet and familiarity with PowerPoint is required.

Good communication and time management skills to manage divers' data upload status and facilitate answering to data related queries with all divers

Volunteer positions are a non-paid role

Volunteer positions are for the time commitment of approximately 2 to 4 hours a week, for a minimum of 3 months

Volunteers who demonstrate outstanding commitment, strong work ethics and aptitude for a year or more may be invited to join our Management team

As volunteers officially representing Marine Stewards, you are required to have a current membership with Marine Stewards. Sign up to be a Marine Steward member here.

Volunteers will be required to sign our Volunteer Agreement.
