UN SDG14: Life Underwater is the most under-funded of all the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Much remains to be done.
Marine conservation is a long term and on-going endeavour, whose results can be small and incremental at times. We seek donors, sponsors, and partners that understand the same and who are committed to making tangible positive impacts for the environment over the long term.

WHAT IT IS

Bioblitz reef survey to catalogue the biodiversity at our selected survey sites. These are carried out monthly by trained citizen science divers and our ReefX volunteers

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?​
​
Singapore faces intense needs for land-use. URA's current 50 year plan envisions for the possibility of some of our Southern islands to be reclaimed. This long term programme serves to (1) record the biodiversity at our reefs, to make a case to preserve them, (2) enable and empower active stakeholders in this space, to demonstrate the importance of and defend for our reefs

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

You may look to sponsor one survey dive, or ideally for a longer duration eg 3 months (3 dives) or 6 months (6 dives). Long term support greatly helps us as reef surveys are a multi-year and long term endeavour

WHERE YOUR SPONSORSHIP GOES TOWARDS
​
Cost of boat charter, tanks and volunteer allowances and programme related expenses. We may spread out sponsorship funds across a few months, in order to smooth out the subsidised costs to participants

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Over-fishing is a global problem and Singapore and our neighbouring countries aren't spared. In Singapore in particular, there is no fisheries management department, and recreational fishing is largely unregulated.
Marine Stewards is the only non-profit organisation in Singapore that seeks to address the problem of over-fishing, by educating recreational fishermen and beginner anglers, so as to steer the fishing culture towards a more sustainable path

FishID Cards 2nd Edition: Waterproof cards with ~100 common fishes in Singapore, with their maturity lengths and guidelines for sustainable fishing

Fish Measurement Tapes: These are tools for anglers to use, to measure their catches, to determine if the fish should be released

WHAT IT IS
​
We are a currently 100% volunteer-run, and we work from anywhere so that we don't incur office rents. However, we still have certain fixed costs to bear just to keep the organisation alive. This includes: book-keeping and audit fees, web domain, web hosting and email and corporate secretarial services. These seem boring but are essential for the organisation to exist.
